One of 25 college/university faculty selected for a one-week seminar and aimed at deepening and broadening instructors’ knowledge about the industries of entertainment TV and film. 

 

Summer Fellow – CONNECT // July 2008

Ottawa, Ontario

Chosen from 200 applicants to participate in the CONNECT program, a comprehensive project focused on the identification, recruitment, orientation and mentoring of new Canadianists for American higher education. CONNECT is jointly sponsored by the Government of Canada, Canadian Studies Program, University of Vermont and the Center for the Study of Canada, Plattsburgh State University of New York, and transports participants to Ottawa for a weeklong session of classes, meetings and seminars. 

 

John S. and James L. Knight Foundation Fellow - Radio & Television News Directors Foundation // June - August 2006

Medford, Oregon

“Educator in the Newsroom” Program, a grant program administered by the Radio-Television News Directors Association/Foundation (RTNDA/F) and awarded to select college and university-level educators for four-week summer fellowships at radio and TV stations. Served as on-air producer and field reporter for KDRV-TV 12, the Emmy-winning ABC affiliate.
