Recipient of a $67,500 student-faculty research grant from the Greater Tacoma Community Foundation for interdisciplinary media support on behalf of the Russell Family Foundation for the Puyallup Watershed Initiative.

 

Russell Family Foundation Technology Spring 2016 

Recipient of a $20,000 technology grant in for upgrade of MediaLab and Ingram Hall technology in support of multimedia student-faculty research work done on behalf of Russell for the Puyallup Watershed Initiative.

 

Russell Family Foundation Fall 2015 

Recipient of a $55,000 student-faculty research grant for interdisciplinary multimedia support for the Puyallup Watershed Initiative.

 

Wang Grant 2015-‘16 Recipient

Recipient of a $7,500 student-faculty research grant from the Wang Center for Global Education at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington, for interdisciplinary multi-media research on the conditions of North America’s rivers and waterways.

Recipient of a $7,500 student-faculty research grant from the Wang Center for Global Education at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington, for interdisciplinary multi-media research on the economic, environmental and cultural implications of food waste on a global scale. 

 

American Academy of Pediatrics Grant

Recipient of a $50,000 student-faculty research grant from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) in Chicago, Ill. For interdisciplinary multimedia support of an AAP neonatal program.

 

Wang Grant 2012-‘13 

Recipient of a $7,500 student-faculty research grant from the Wang Center for Global Education at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington, for interdisciplinary multi-media research on the global water crisis.

 

Fall 2011 Discovery Institute 

Recipient of a $2,000 student-faculty research grant from the Discovery Institute in Seattle for production of short documentary film about efforts to construct a high speed rail corridor in Oregon, Washington and British Columbia.

 

World Vision 

Recipient of a private $10,000 student-faculty research donation in Fall 2010 from World Vision, the Federal Way, Washington-based global relief organization for interdisciplinary multi-media research on the effects of repeated trauma on professionals such as EMTs, police officers, firefighters and other first responders. 

 

Wang Grant 2010-‘11 

Recipient of a $2,000 student-faculty research grant in Fall 2010 from the Wang Center for Global Education at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington, for interdisciplinary multi-media research regarding efforts to establish high-speed rail service along the Interstate-5 corridor between Vancouver, B.C. and Portland, Ore.

Recipient of a $7,500 student-faculty research grant from the Wang Center for Global Education at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington, for interdisciplinary multi-media research comparing and contrasting immigration policies in the U.S. and Canada.

 

Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada Grant

Recipient of a $27,575 student-faculty AY 2009-’10 research grant from the SSHRC of Canada for a joint project interdisciplinary multimedia project with students and faculty from the University of Calgary.

 

Canadian Consulate of Seattle 2008 Grant

Recipient of a $5,000 student-faculty research grant from the Canadian Consulate of Seattle for multi-media research and documentary film production comparing and contrasting Canada and U.S. immigration policies.

 

Wang Grant 2008-‘09

Recipient of a $7,500 student-faculty research grant from the Wang Center for Global Education at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington, for interdisciplinary multi-media research on the transport of guns and drugs across the U.S. Canada border and the crimes that tend to ensue.

 

Government of Canada 2008-09 Faculty Research Grant

Recipient of a $6,298 student-faculty research grant for the production of a documentary film comparing and contrasting Canada and U.S. immigration policies.
